(b) The provider shall have operable smoke detectors, cover all electrical outlets, provide <br />operable fire extinguishers properly mounted in the kitchen and other appropriate areas, provide <br />operable flashlights or other emergency lighting, provide an emergency evacuation plan with <br />alternative escape routes and be in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. <br />(c) Outdoor play areas shall be protected from traffic and other hazards, including glass, <br />construction materials, dangerous or sharp objects or equipment, standing water, animals and <br />insects. All play equipment shall be kept safe. <br />(d) No dangerous ordnance shall be kept anywhere in the provider's home or on the premises at <br />any time when child day care services are provided. <br />(e) No firearms shall be kept anywhere in the provider's home or on the premised at any time <br />when child day care services are provided except as otherwise provided by Ohio Administrative <br />Code Section 5101:2-12-12. <br />Section 16. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this ordinance were passed in an open meeting of this Council and <br />that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such actions were <br />in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br />Section 17. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for <br />the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare in the City and <br />for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to <br />this ordinance, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members <br />of Council, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately following its adoption by <br />the Council and approval by the Mayor, or otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />Adopted: I I I m I aot I <br />Approved: 1//Zz <br />14 <br />Clerk of Council <br />Mayor <br />
