RESOLUTION 2019-07 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to <br /> take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, appointing <br /> as the ex-officio, non-voting councilmember to the Lakewood <br /> Animal Safety and Welfare Advisory Board, for a two year term beginning January 1, 2020 <br /> and ending December 31, 2021. (Referred to COW 1114119(pg. 5) <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to defer Resolution <br /> 2019-07. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2019-07 deferred. <br /> 7. Public Safety Committee report regarding meeting held December 9, 2019. <br /> Public Safety Committee Chairman Bullock delivered the following report: <br /> The Public Safety Committee Chair met on December 9t" & discussed further deliberations on <br /> the potential of scooters and other shared mobility systems in Lakewood. We deliberated <br /> with the benefit of the new Councilmembers-elect present, bringing them up to speed and to <br /> further understand trends in the region and nation. We are still doing our due diligence on <br /> that topic and will resume in the new year. There was not a decision but just fact-finding on <br /> the topic, which is a complex one. <br /> Motion by Councilman Bullock, seconded by President O'Leary to receive & file the oral <br /> report. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 8. Finance Committee report regarding meetings held December 7, 9, & 16, 2019 (to be <br /> provided) <br /> Finance Committee Chairman O'Malley delivered the following report: <br /> We have held 12-13 hours of Finance Committee hearings over the course of the last month. <br /> Most recently met last Saturday for a four-hour marathon. It was very good to hear, not only <br /> from department heads but to have a good discussion on the Lakewood Hospital Fund and <br /> the Mayor's Office. Last Monday we heard from the Fire Chief, the Police Chief& Judge Pat <br /> Carroll as well as the Clerk of Courts, Christina McCallum. Tonight, we had a very good <br /> discussion where we talked about the various ordinances that are before us this evening, all <br /> of which were recommended for adoption. We had a good discussion on some recent <br /> 4 <br />
