ARTICLE 30 SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS <br />30.01 An hourly employee who is temporarily assigned to duties for which a higher wage is <br />provided during any part of a regular time day shall be paid the regular time rate applicable to such <br />duties for all of the regular time worked on such day at the rate for the special assignment next <br />highest to his regular rate but not less than the twelve (12) month rate for the special assignment. If <br />the assignment continues into or is made during overtime, the employee shall be paid the overtime <br />rate applicable to such duties for the period of such overtime assignment. If by reason of multiple <br />assignments, two (2) different rates of pay become applicable for the same day, the employee shall <br />be paid the higher rate. <br />30.02 If an employee works a normal workday at a higher job rate and then is called to work <br />overtime at a different and lower job rate, the employee will receive time and one-half (1-1/2) pay <br />for the overtime at the employee's regular rate or the special assignment rate, whichever is higher. If <br />an employee normally works at a specific job seventy (70) percent of the time in any pay period, the <br />employee shall receive a specific job rate for the entire pay period, including vacation, sick leave and <br />holidays. <br />30.03 No employee shall be assigned to duties for which a higher wage is provided who has not <br />completed the required probationary period, as provided in Article 11, unless no other employee in <br />that division is available to perform the assignment. An employee on probation shall not perform the <br />assignment of an employee on layoff. <br />30.04 Non -bargaining unit personnel shall not be assigned to perform bargaining unit work if such <br />assignment causes a layoff, job abolishment, or is such that the assignment eliminates a person in a <br />temporary special assignment to a classification. <br />30.05 Stewards on special assignment shall clock in and out at their regular work site unless <br />mutually agreed otherwise. <br />30.06 Special assignments shall not exceed thirty (30) days unless mutually agreed otherwise <br />between the City and the Union. <br />30.07 All special assignments over 30 consecutive days shall be documented in writing listing the <br />duration of such special assignment, and a copy given to the division union steward. <br />ARTICLE 31 HOSPITALIZATION AND INSURANCE <br />31.01 Effective January 1, 2020, for employees electing coverage under the 90/10 Plan, monthly <br />employee premium contributions shall be determined by adding the SERB statewide average <br />increase as published in the SERB Health Insurance 2019 The Cost of Health Insurance in the Public <br />Sector to the 2019 rates as established by the Healthcare Committee MOU in 2018. <br />For the 90/10 Single Plan the 2020 monthly employee premium calculation will be 2019 single plan <br />monthly premium rate multiplied by the 2019 SERB average for single plans plus the 2019 single <br />plan monthly premium rate ($104.56 x 7.4% _ $7.74 + $104.56 = $112.30). <br />27 <br />
