scheduled vacation (March 15'h to December 31st) shall be the preceding December I" to the <br />following March 15"'. If requests are not made by March 151h, then that vacation request shall be <br />treated as unscheduled vacation and seniority no longer governs. The period between January I" <br />and March 14th shall be considered as unscheduled vacation and seniority shall not apply. All <br />scheduled vacation requests shall be given answers, in writing, within three (3) working days of <br />March 15'h. All unscheduled vacation requests shall be approved/disapproved, in writing, within <br />three (3) working days. <br />24.06 In case of the death of a City employee, the unused vacation leave to the credit of any such <br />employee, shall be paid pursuant to state law: 1) to the surviving spouse; 2) to any one (1) or more <br />of children over the age of 18; 3) to the mother or father of the deceased, preference being given <br />to the order named or to the employee's estate. <br />24.07 If a recognized holiday falls within an employee's vacation leave, the employee shall not <br />be charged for vacation leave for that day. <br />24.08 Notwithstanding Ohio Revised Code section 9.44 or any other statute or ordinance, <br />employees hired before January 1, 1995, shall be credited with service time with the State or any <br />political subdivision of the State. Employees hired after January 1, 1995, shall be credited only <br />with service with the City of Lakewood. <br />ARTICLE 25 <br />WAGES <br />25.01 Effective January 1, 2020, all bargaining unit wage rates and individual wage rates listed in <br />the "special group" of the wage scale shall be increased by three percent (3%). <br />25.02 Effective January 1, 2021, all bargaining unit wage rates and individual wage rates listed in <br />the "special group" of the wage scale shall be increased by two and one -quarter percent (2.25%). <br />25.03 Effective January 1, 2022, all bargaining unit wage rates and individual wage rates listed in <br />the "special group" of the wage scale shall be increased by two and one-half percent (2.5%). <br />25.04 Effective June 1, 2017, the wage schedules for the following positions shall be adjusted to: <br />• Juvenile Diversion Program Coordinator from Group IV lower the Group IV upper level <br />• Community Resource Specialist from Group VI to Group IV upper level <br />ARTICLE 26 <br />LONGEVITY COMPENSATION <br />26.01 All full-time, hourly employees shall be paid in addition to their regular compensation, <br />additional compensation based upon the number of continuous fall years of service, including <br />22 <br />
