MINUTES OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> October 5, 2020 <br /> Meeting held virtually <br /> Present: Councilmembers Bullock, Litten, Neff <br /> Also Present: Councilmember Kepple, members of the public, Deputy Clerk Lascu, Clerk Bach, <br /> Mayor George, Public Works Director Ducu, Finance Director Rancatore, Planning Director <br /> Leininger, Fire Chief Dunphy <br /> Call to Order: 6:00 p.m. <br /> RESOLUTION 2020-54 - A Resolution to formally identify agreed-upon priorities that <br /> Council authorizes and directs be incorporated into the 2021 budget <br /> Chairman Bullock accepted public comment. The attached public comments were read into the <br /> record. The following speakers were present at the virtual meeting to make the following <br /> remarks: <br /> Keith Walker, 1511 Lincoln Ave. —Mr. Walker introduced himself as a sustainability advocate <br /> and expressed support for the Zero-Emissions Lakewood proposal put forward by <br /> Councilmembers Rader and Bullock. He stated that cities and organizations must have <br /> sustainability at the forefront. He spoke of the many benefits of clean energy. <br /> Michael Fodor, 1439 Riverside Dr. —Mr. Fodor expressed support for the Zero-Emissions <br /> Lakewood and Expansion of Clean Power Use proposals. He thanked Council for committing to <br /> 100% clean energy in 2019 and remarked that these budget proposals were a natural next step. <br /> He expressed enthusiasm for the City's progress toward 100%renewable energy. <br /> Director Rancatore noted that the proposal requests $10,000 and that the total budget is $60,000. <br /> He asked what the plan is for filling the gap. <br /> Councilmember Rader replied that the plan calls for an initial investment of$10,000 to hire a <br /> consultant in the first year. $50,000 is requested for a professional assessment in future years but <br /> the plan is built to incorporate potential grants. <br /> Councilmember Bullock explained that the first step was to amend Resolution 2020-54 to <br /> incorporate the Council budget priorities as an attachment, which he so moved. Motion was <br /> seconded and a roll call vote was conducted as follows: <br /> Yeas: Bullock, Litten, Neff <br /> Nays: none <br /> Motion adopted. Resolution 2020-54 amended to incorporate all council budget priorities. <br /> 1 <br />
