Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 17. RESOLUTION 2021-20 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take <br /> effect at the earliest period allowed by law, declaring May 2021 Building Safety Month in <br /> the City of Lakewood. (pg. 52) <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to adopt Resolution <br /> 2021-20. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Kepple, Litten, Neff, O'Malley, Rader, Shachner <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. Resolution 2021-20 was adopted. <br /> ***PUBLIC COMMENT"" <br /> Ian Andrews — 14650 Detroit Ave. — Mr. Andrews stated his thanks for the roof work <br /> completed on the Curtis Block building and added his support for the adaptive reuse of the <br /> building. <br /> Heather Rudge — 13926 Clifton Blvd. — Ms. Rudge advocated for passive ventilation of the <br /> Curtis Block building and for the removal of wet debris inside it. <br /> McKenzie Levi— 14811 Hilliard Rd. —Mr. Levi spoke about community violence prevention <br /> and weaponry. <br /> ""ANNOUNCEMENTS"" <br /> Councilmember Bullock inquired about the status of the roof repair work at the Curtis Block <br /> building and the plans for public pools in Lakewood. Director Leininger indicated roof <br /> repairs are complete and that passive ventilation is being evaluated. Mayor George indicated <br /> that Council approved the capital plan back in December and the pool designer is in the <br /> process of being selected through a RFP. <br /> Councilmember Rader congratulated LASWAB on raising over 2,000 pounds of pet food <br /> donations. <br /> Vice President Litten expressed excitement for in person Council meetings and congratulated <br /> Councilmember Shachner on his birthday. He also expressed support for the Police <br /> Department and thanks that the basketball hoops are back up at Madison Park. <br /> President O'Malley explained the hybrid meeting version that would take place on May 17th. <br /> He also noted that a Council retreat would be upcoming and encouraged councilmembers to <br /> promote vaccinations to their constituents. <br />
