27. ORDINANCE 28-2021 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately, provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law,to provide for creating <br /> positions and rates of pay for full-time and celiain part-time annual salaried employees <br /> and hourly rate employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement in the several <br /> departments, divisions and offices of the City of Lakewood, including the Chief of Fire, <br /> Chief of Police and Civil Service Commissioners and superseding all prior salary <br /> ordinances. (pg. 175) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to refer Ordinance 28-2021 <br /> to the Finance Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Ordinance 28-2021 <br /> was referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> 28. Communication from Director Dillinger regarding amending Section 149.08 Vacations of <br /> the Administrative Code. (pg. 181) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to refer the communication <br /> to the Finance Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. The communication <br /> was referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> 29. ORDINANCE 29-2021 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, amending Section <br /> 149.08 Vacations, of the Lakewood Codified Ordinances to grant vacation time to <br /> employees who are hired part time to accrue vacation time and to allow for credit for prior <br /> service with the State or any political subdivision of the state and to grant vacation time to <br /> part-time employees. (pg. 182) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to refer Ordinance 29-2021 <br /> to the Finance Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Ordinance 29-2021 <br /> was referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> ***PUBLIC COMMENT"" <br /> Scott Rising, 1531 Wagar Ave. - Mr. Rising expressed interest in growing the City's <br /> greenspace. He reported that he has spoken with Graftech about using part of its property for <br /> a low-impact park and that they may be agreeable. He also suggested that the City use <br /> greenspace alongside the interstate to plant wildflowers and other foliage that can help slow <br /> climate change. <br />
