Mayor George responded that her administration has been pursuing both ideas and has recently <br /> spoken with Graftech and the Ohio Department of Transportation about purchasing excess <br /> property and repurposing it. <br /> McKenzie Levi — Mr. Levi discussed his challenges collecting signatures to appear on the <br /> ballot and requested that Council allow for write in candidates in at-large elections. He argued <br /> that this would improve ballot equity. <br /> ****ANNOUNCEMENTS**** <br /> Councilmember Rader asked for a brief update on the former hospital site. He also recognized <br /> the Public Works Department and Fabrizi Trucking &Paving for their work on Leedale Ave. <br /> Director Leininger responded that CASTO is continuing to update its proposal to reflect the <br /> new site conditions. CASTO and the City are making progress developing a term sheet. The <br /> City has twice convened its Advisory Panel on this matter. He stated that the administration <br /> will have more to report after recess and he assured Council that much work is happening <br /> behind the scenes. <br /> Councilmember Bullock requested a brief update on the status of the Curtis Block. <br /> Chief Dunphy responded that the roof was recently repaired and that ventilation was increased <br /> to help dry out the property. <br /> Councilmember Bullock asked if the City has a plan for cooling stations in case of power <br /> outages this summer. <br /> Chief Dunphy discussed the City's plans which include using the schools. There is an <br /> agreement in place with RTA for transportation. Director Gelsomino discussed the <br /> administration's recent efforts during an outage. <br /> Vice President Litten spoke about Lakewood Alive's upcoming Summer Meltdown. <br /> President O'Malley made a motion, seconded by Vice President Litten to adjourn the meeting. <br /> All members voted in favor.Motion passed.
