RESOLUTION 2021-45 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, appointing <br /> to the Civil Service Commission for the three-year term beginning <br /> January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2024. <br /> The Committee discussed the Civil Service vacancy. The Civil Service Commission requires that <br /> no more than two of its three members be of the same political party. Currently, the Commission <br /> is comprised of one Independent and one Democrat. The Committee directed Council staff to put <br /> out a call for applicants for this upcoming vacancy. <br /> RESOLUTION 2021-46 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, appointing <br /> to the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board for the remainder of <br /> an unexpired term beginning January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022. <br /> The Committee directed Council staff to put out a call for applicants for this upcoming vacancy. <br /> RESOLUTION 2021-47 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, <br /> appointing to the Tree Advisory & Education Board for the three- <br /> year term beginning January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2024. <br /> Councilmember Rader reported that he has spoken with Council's appointee to the Tree Board, <br /> who prefers not to be reappointed. Councilmember Rader suggested speaking with members of <br /> the former Tree Task Force about being appointed. <br /> The Committee agreed that it would solicit applicants for open positions on the Civil Service <br /> Commission, the Audit Committee, the Heritage Advisory Board, and the Board of Nuisance <br /> Abatement Appeals. <br /> Committee of the Whole adjourned at approximately 6:20 p.m. <br /> 4 <br />
