RESOLUTION 2021-50 - A RESOLUTION calling upon the citizens of Lakewood to <br /> participate in fire prevention activities at home during the week of October 3, 2021, and to <br /> heed the message, "Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety" as the 2021 Fire Prevention Week <br /> theme suggests. (pg. 57) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to adopt Resolution 2021- <br /> 50. All members voted in favor. Resolution 2021-50 was adopted. <br /> ***PUBLIC COMMENT"" <br /> Dennis Pehotsky — 1430 Parkhaven Row —Mr. Pehotsky reported congestion and hazardous <br /> traffic conditions on Park Haven due to the driveways of Raising Cane's and GetGo. He asked <br /> for the Raising Cane's south driveway to be eliminated and for no left turn signs to be enforced <br /> by police. <br /> Councilmember Litten noted that he has worked to resolve issues between Raising Cane's and <br /> the neighborhood in the past and that he will join the effort with LPD to try and find a solution. <br /> Lesley Dohrn - 1256 Andrews — Ms. Dohin expressed concerns about the public process <br /> regarding the Foster Pool renovation. She advocated for the project to be paused until there has <br /> been more public meetings, focus groups and additional data to support the need for the <br /> renovation. Ms. Dohrn provided her public comments in writing. They are attached here. <br /> President O'Malley responded that the City has been discussing the condition of Foster Pool <br /> for many years and that the pool is more than 50 years old. He added that the Planning <br /> Department has held several public meetings and altered plans in response to feedback. <br /> Mayor George weighed in on the public process thus far and noted that the design has changed <br /> in response to feedback. She noted that changes are still possible and that all are striving for <br /> the best possible design for swimmers and families. <br /> ***ANNOUNCEMENTS**** <br /> Director Gelsomino announced the 3rd Annual Healthy Lakewood Community Meeting on <br /> September 22. Director Gelsomino praised Healthy Lakewood Foundation for its support of <br /> Human Services' initiatives. <br /> President O'Malley thanked Melissa Garrett, the churches, and other participants for a <br /> successful Lakewood Community Festival. <br /> 9 <br />
