Motion by Vice President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Rader to refer Resolution 2021- <br /> 52 to the Health & Human Services Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> Resolution 2021-52 was referred to the Health &Human Services Committee. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Bullock requested that the CCBH Commissioner Terry Allan <br /> attend the committee hearing to review various enforcement initiatives/public health <br /> advisories. It was confirmed that Commissioner Allan would be scheduled for the meeting. <br /> On the motion: All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2021-52 was referred <br /> to the Health & Human Services Committee. <br /> 11. Communication from Chief Kaucheck regarding a request to modify LCO Ordinance <br /> 144.14(3), a civil service rule that outlines the hiring process for lateral entries to the <br /> Division of Police. (pg. 25) <br /> Motion by Vice President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to refer the <br /> communication to the Public Safety Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> The communication was referred to the Public Safety Committee. <br /> 12. ORDINANCE 37-2021 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force at the earliest period allowed by law, amending Sections <br /> within Chapter 144 Civil Service Commission to allow the hiring of one lateral entry police <br /> officer for every two officers hired off of the Civil Service Eligibility List. (pg. 26) <br /> Motion by Vice President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Rader to refer the <br /> communication to the Public Safety Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> The communication was referred to the Public Safety Committee. <br /> ***PUBLIC COMMENT"" <br /> Pat Ballard—2216 Woodward Ave. —Mr. Ballard asked that the city stop acquiring properties <br /> to promote fiscal responsibility. He also suggested the city seek out advice from local experts <br /> on property acquisition and find ways to reduce real estate tax rates. <br /> Heather Rudge — Clifton Blvd. — Ms. Rudge spoke in support of preserving the Curtis Block <br /> Building. She asked the city to make a variety of improvements to it and for an update on <br /> where negotiations with CASTO are on the property. Mayor George indicated that the building <br /> has been included in renderings for the development at the hospital site. Her written remarks <br /> are attached. <br />
