ORDINANCE 51-2021 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect January 1, 2022, provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law,to provide for creating <br /> positions and rates of pay for full-time and certain part-time annual salaried employees and <br /> hourly rate employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement in the several <br /> departments, divisions and offices of the City of Lakewood, including the Chief of Fire, <br /> Chief of Police and Civil Service Commissioners and superseding all prior salary <br /> ordinances. (pg. 66) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to refer Ordinance 51-2021 <br /> to the Finance Committee. All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Communication from Director Rancatore regarding an ordinance to replenish and provide <br /> a viable revenue stream for the City's Land Acquisition Fund. (pg. 72) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: President O'Malley spoke to the importance of the Land Acquisition Fund and its <br /> ability to be used a tool for strategic development. He noted Cove Church and Trinity Church <br /> were purchased using the fund. He concluded that replenishing it was one of his budget <br /> priorities and thanked the administration for moving toward it. <br /> 7 <br />
