9. Communication from Councilmember O'Malley regarding re-codification of ordinances. <br /> (pg. 66) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. All members in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and <br /> filed. <br /> 10. ORDINANCE 01-2022 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council,or otherwise <br /> to take effect and be in force at the earliest period allowed by law, to approve the editing <br /> and inclusion of certain ordinances as parts of the various component codes of the <br /> Codified Ordinances and to provide for the publication of such new matter. (pg. 67) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to defer Ordinance 01- <br /> 2022. All members in favor. Motion passed. Ordinance 01-2022 was deferred. <br /> 11. Appointment from Councilmember O'Malley to the Animal Safety & Welfare Advisory <br /> Board. (pg. 69) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. All members in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and <br /> filed. <br /> 12. Communication from Mayor George & Councilmember Kepple regarding virtual open <br /> meetings. (pg. 70) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Kepple and Mayor George spoke about the surge in Covid cases <br /> due to the omicron variant. President O'Malley expressed his relief that Council will be able <br /> to shy to virtual open meetings. It was noted that the legislation could be utilized for any <br /> meeting of Council and any city board/commission. Director Corrigan added that the city <br /> charter requires that Council's first meeting in January of each year be in person. <br /> All members in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 5 <br />
