Bullock III, Sarah Kepple, John Litten, <br /> Daniel J. O'Malley (6:10 p.m.), Tristan Rader, Jason Shachner <br /> Present from the Board of Education: Ms. Betsy Bergen Shaughnessy, Mr. Michael Callahan, <br /> Ms. Linda Beebe, Mr. Nora Katzenberger, Ms. Emma Petrie Barcelona <br /> Also Present: Mayor George, Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Kaucheck, Fire Chief <br /> Dunphy, Planning Director Shawn Leininger, Law Director Corrigan, Human Services <br /> Director Gelsomino, Chief of Staff John Storey, Deputy Clerk Lascu, Clerk Bach, <br /> Superintendent Niedzwiecki, Treasurer Zeman, Recreation Coordinator Leslie Favre <br /> Krogman, Communication Coordinator Christine Gordillo, Director of Teaching & Learning <br /> Steven Ast, and Director of Operations Christopher Donahoe <br /> President Shaughnessy & President O'Malley made opening remarks about the importance of <br /> partnership, information sharing and discussing topics of mutual interest between the two <br /> bodies. <br /> ***AGENDA*** <br /> Safe Routes to School <br /> At the invitation of President O'Malley, Planning Director Leininger delivered a prepared <br /> presentation (see attached) discussing the city's application to ODOT for Safe Routes to School <br /> grant. He remarked upon how this effort fits in with the city's previous and ongoing initiatives to <br /> promote active living. The application requests funds for technical assistance, infrastructure <br /> improvements, education, and outreach. The intention is to create a school travel plan for every <br /> K-8 school in the city including public and private schools. He remarked that work between the <br /> city and school district has already begun to gather student data. The grant application is due <br /> soon and the city will receive notice in June. <br /> 1 <br />
