communication. All in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 15. October 2021 and December 2021 reports to Council from the Anti-Racism Task Force. (pg. 53) <br /> President O'Malley invited members of the Task Force to address Council. Present were Laura <br /> Rodriguez-Carbone, Angelina Steiner, Sam Pearson, William Yeung, Kate McBride and Kate <br /> Newsom. <br /> Chairperson Rodriguez-Carbone reviewed the contents of the reports and the progress of the <br /> Task Force. She discussed the Task Force's work, specifically its work on an RFP to bring on a <br /> consultant. She discussed the various benefits of working with a consultant and the group's goal <br /> to create a racial equity plan that covers safety, housing, culture, and wellness that is driven by <br /> data. The group aspires to publish the plan and recommendations within a year's time. The Task <br /> Force expressed appreciation that the city has set aside funds for the endeavor. The City has been <br /> in discussion with the Healthy Lakewood Foundation about potentially seeking additional funds <br /> to supplement the City's budget. They remarked further on the project timeline. The RFP is <br /> under internal review at the moment and will hopefully go out next week. <br /> The Task Force also asked Council to adopt a resolution to reject HB 327 and HB 322, two <br /> pieces of legislation in the statehouse that attempt to eliminate the ability of public bodies or <br /> institutions from talking about or teaching about racism including slavery and the civil rights <br /> movement. <br /> Additional topics of discussion included the upcoming Community Health Needs Assessment <br /> and the Task Force's role with it as well as the Task Force's overall goals. <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. All in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 16. Communication from Mayor George regarding LCO 549 Fireworks. (pg. 57) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to receive and file the <br /> communication. All in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 17. ORDINANCE 11-2022 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the <br /> affirmative vote of at least five (5) members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in <br /> force after the earliest period allowed by law, amending Chapter 549.10, Fireworks, of the <br /> Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood in order to address and account for changes made <br /> to Ohio law and adopt a conforming local ordinance regulating fireworks. (pg. 58) <br /> Motion by President O'Malley, seconded by Vice President Litten to refer Ordinance 11-2022 to <br /> the Public Safety Committee. All in favor. Motion passed. Ordinance 11-2022 was referred to <br /> the Public Safety Committee. <br /> 18. Communication from Mayor George regarding mobile food licensing.
