Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to adopt Reso. 2022-17. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Rader acknowledged Nicole Harris of NOPEC in the audience and <br /> encouraged members to address any questions to her. He expressed his support for the <br /> legislation as a step toward the city achieving its clean energy goals. <br /> On the motion: All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2022-17 adopted. <br /> 5. ORDINANCE 17-2022 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force at the earliest period allowed by law, to approve <br /> the editing and inclusion of certain ordinances as parts of the various component codes <br /> of the Codified Ordinances and to provide for the publication of such new matter. <br /> (deferred 4118122) (pg. 026) <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to defer Ordinance 17-2022. <br /> All members voted in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 17-2022 deferred. <br /> ***NEW BUSINESS*** <br /> 6. Communication from Vice President Litten regarding vacant Ward 4 Council seat. (pg. <br /> 028) <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file. <br /> Discussion: Council decided to set a deadline of May 13, 2022 for Ward 4 applications and a <br /> scheduled Committee of the Whole to discuss them on Monday May 16th. It was announced <br /> that there are currently two applicants. <br /> On the motion: All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 7. RESOLUTION 2022-18 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, <br /> appointing to the Ward 4 seat on Lakewood City Council for the <br /> remainder of the four-year term ending December 31, 2023. (pg. 030) <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to refer Resolution 2022-18 to <br /> Committee of the Whole. All members voted in favor. Motion passed.
