County Healthy Urban Tree Canopy grant. (pg. 03 1) <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Bullock applauded the administration for its steady work to plant <br /> and maintain trees and to pursue funding for trees. <br /> Councilmember Kepple encouraged residents to request tree lawn trees free from the city and <br /> pointed to the program that plants trees on private property. <br /> In response to a question, Director Ducu stated that the city plants approximately 200 trees in <br /> the spring and 200 in the fall. <br /> Councilmember Baker offered a suggestion for a location that could host new trees adjacent to <br /> the Interstate. <br /> On the motion: All members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 9. RESOLUTION 2022-19 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, <br /> authorizing the Mayor or her designee to enter into Healthy Urban Tree Canopy Grant <br /> Program Project Agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept an award of$50,000 and <br /> requiring Lakewood's previously budgeted $135,590 as a match.
