Marie-France Schreiber– 12980 Clifton Blvd.–Ms. Schreiber advocated for the preservation of <br /> the Curtis Block Building, noting that Lakewood's architecture playing a role in her family <br /> settling in the city. <br /> Paula Reed– 1208 Manor Park–Ms. Reed stated the importance of maintaining the character of <br /> Detroit Ave., cautioning against approving generic looking buildings in Lakewood's downtown <br /> district. <br /> ""ANNOUNCEMENTS"" <br /> Director Corrigan acknowledged the passing of Kay McGorray, who founded McGorray's <br /> Funeral Home in Lakewood and raised 8 children in the city. <br /> Councilmember Rader stated a desire to get the Curtis Block Building right and thanked all those <br /> who came to speak on it during Public Comment. He also congratulated David Brock, who was <br /> recently elected Cuyahoga County Democratic Party Chairman. <br /> Councilmember Bullock welcomed Cindy Marx back to Council and echoed Councilmember <br /> Rader's sentiments regarding the Curtis Block Building. <br /> Councilmember Marx thanked Council and acknowledged all those that shared their thoughts on <br /> the Curtis Block Building that evening. <br /> Councilmember Baker urged people to show up to the Architectural Board of Review and <br /> Planning Commission meetings to continue to advocate for changes to the downtown <br /> redevelopment project. <br /> Councilmember Shachner concurred with his colleagues and provided input on the Curtis Block <br /> Building and larger development. <br /> Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to adjourn the meeting.
