19. Communication from Director Leininger& Development Officer Wyman regarding <br /> appropriation of Cuyahoga County Emergency Rent Assistance Program Funds. (pg. <br /> 040) <br /> Motion by Vice President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Rader to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: Trish Rooney of the Lakewood Community Services Center (LCSC) spoke about the <br /> dire need for the emergency rent assistance among the population ofpeople the organization <br /> serves. Councilmembers commended LCSC for its work and offered their support. <br /> On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br /> 20. RESOLUTION 2022-35 -A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br /> otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, <br /> authorizing the Mayor and Director of Planning and Development to enter into an <br /> agreement with Lakewood Community Services Center for the provision of Emergency <br /> Rent Assistance with Emergency Rent Assistance Program (ERA-1) funds allocated to <br /> the City of Lakewood by Cuyahoga County in the amount of$609,459. (pg. 04 1) <br /> Motion by Vice President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Rader to adopt Resolution <br /> 2022-35. <br /> Discussion: Councilmember Shachner spoke about the need for the funding and affordable <br /> housing in the city. <br /> On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2022-35 was adopted. <br /> 21. Communication from Finance Director Rancatore regarding the creation of an Opioid <br /> Settlement Fund. (pg. 046) <br /> Motion by Vice President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Rader to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> Discussion: Councilmembers and Directors Rancatore and Corrigan discussed the logistics in <br /> setting up the fund and how it could serve to impact the community. The total amount received <br /> annually stands to be about$8,700 for an 18 year period. <br /> On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. The communication was received and filed. <br />
