MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL AUDITORIUM October 3, 2022 7:30 P.M. Regular Meeting of the Lakewood City Council called to order at 7:41 PM by President Litten Present: Kyle Baker, Thomas R. Bullock III, Sarah Kepple, John Litten, Cindy Marx, Tristan Rader, Jason Shachner Also Present: Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Kaucheck, Fire Chief Dunphy, Public Works Director Ducu, Human Resources Director Claudia Dillinger, Planning Director Shawn Leininger, Appointed Law Director Ernie Vargo, Chief Assistant Law Director Swallow, Human Services Director Chad Berry, Chief of Staff John Storey, Clerk Bach and Council staff Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to dispose of the minutes of the September 19, 2022 General Meeting without the necessity of a reading. With President Litten abstaining, all other members voted in favor. Motion passed. ****OLD BUSINESS**** 1. Committee of the Whole Report regarding meetings held September 26, 2022. (pg. 001) Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file written report. All in favor. Motion passed. 2. RESOLUTION 2022-38 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor to enter into a consent decree with the US Department of Justice. (Referred to COW 9119122) (pg. 002) Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to adopt Resolution 2022-38. Discussion: President Litten thanked the Administration for the steps taken to author the Consent Decree. He spoke in support of the progress of the city's sewer systems. On the motion: All in favor.
