Public Works Director Gordon provided additional background on the situation and the city's attempts to acquire hybrid vehicles. To further illustrate the challenging supply chain issues impacting the city,Chief Kaucheck shared that there are currently four police vehicles sitting idle on recall waiting for parts from the manufacturer. On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2023-12 adopted. 13. Communication from Public Works Director Gordon regarding Community Recycling Awareness Grant Award. (pg. 19) Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file the communication. Discussion: President Litten expressed the importance of community awareness around updated recycling practices. Councilmember Kepple clarified with Director Gordon that the grant requires Council to send out material approved by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District. She suggested the possible use of digital materials. Director Gordon explained that the use of the print materials is the surest way to receive the grant. On the motion: All in favor. Discussion: President Litten clarified with Director Gordon that the funds from the reimbursement program would be used for the streets proposed and accepted. On the motion: All in favor.
