(to be
provided)
Councilmember Rader gave the following oral report:
Today, May P; we held our meeting of the Public Works & Sustainability Committee to hear our
Climate Action Plan. This climate action work had taken place over the last year and a half. It's
something that both Councilman Bullock and I had been putting into our budget for some time,
and because of Covid, it took a little longer, but we are really happy with the work and the progress
of the Administration and of SSG, the consulting firm they hired to help us complete this plan.
The plan will get us to near net zero by 2050 through 50 separate categories of work. This work
is going to be spread out over that period of time. We're thrilled to have an actual Climate Action
Plan that will accomplish what we need to accomplish here. We realize that this Climate Action
Plan is a critical road map that'll guide our work and efforts for years ahead. We pledge to do
everything we can as a City Council to help accomplish this plan, but again, that plan is the first
1
