Discussion: In response to questions from Council, Director Gordon asked for passage on first <br />reading to avoid project delays. He stated that the easement is necessary and standard procedure. <br /> <br />Councilmember Baker offered that in his experience, these matters are standard and not easily <br />negotiated with the utility companies. <br /> <br />On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2023-20 was adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />***PUBLIC COMMENT**** <br /> <br />Megan Denman Î 12520 Edgewater Dr. Î Ms. Denman spoke in support of the Community <br />Circulator program and mentioned the economic and environmental benefits. She made mention of <br />potential grants to move the project forward. <br /> <br />Kerstin Salo Î 1650 Orchard Grove Î Ms. Salo explained the importance of the Community <br />Circulator for the mobility of the disabled community in Lakewood. <br /> <br />Carlos Castell Î 1170 Summit Ave. Î Mr. Castell mentioned the benefit of the Community Circulator <br />for Lakewood youth and for families with one car. <br /> <br />Sharon Hogan Î 1170 Summit Ave. Î Mr. Hogan supported the Community Circulator program and <br />mentioned the benefit for the limited parking in Lakewood. <br /> <br />Larisse Mondok Î 2175 Brown Rd. Î Ms. Mondok explained the necessity of the Community <br />Circulator for immigrant families with children who do not own a car. She mentioned that the <br />Circulator would add to the welcoming atmosphere in Lakewood. <br /> <br />President Litten made mention of the e-comment that supported the Community Circulator program. <br /> <br />Mayor George shared her support of the Community Circulator and mentioned the early stages of <br />its feasibility study. Director Leininger mentioned that the project is under way, but that there is still <br />time before a public meeting regarding the program. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Bullock and Baker supported the Community Circulator program and mentioned <br />the support needed by the City and schools. <br /> <br />Vice President Kepple thanked the public for attending the meeting and encouraged Lakewood <br />residents to continue to hold Council accountable for creative solutions like the Community <br />Circulator program.
