Discussion: In response to a question from President Litten, Chief Kaucheck explained that the <br />grant will allow nearly all police cars to be equipped with an AED. Currently, only four police <br />cars are equipped. <br /> <br />On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />28. Communication from the Anti-Racism Task Force regarding the Equius Group. (pg. 57) <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to refer communication to the <br />Health & Human Services Committee. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />29. Communication from Mayor George regarding Pride Month 2023. (pg. 58) <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file communication. <br /> <br />Discussion: Vice President Kepple expressed appreciation for the resolution. She explained that <br />it makes a difference to the LGBTQ community and that these actions by the city are noticed. <br /> <br />On the motion: All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />30. RESOLUTION 2023-29 - A RESOLUTION recognizing the June 2023 as Lesbian, Gay, <br />Bisexual, Transgender and Queer/Questioning, and Plus (LGBTQ+) month. (pg. 59) <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to adopt Resolution 2023-29. All <br />in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2023-29 adopted. <br /> <br />31. Communication from Director Gordon regarding Grant of Easement To Ohio Edison <br />Company (First Energy Corp) For Electric Power. (pg. 61) <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to receive and file communication. <br /> <br />Discussion: Vice President Kepple, Councilmember Baker, and Director Gordon spoke about the <br />necessity of an easement to move the project forward. <br /> <br />On the motion: All in favor. RESOLUTION 2023-30 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br />receives the vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take <br />effect at the earliest period allowed by law, The Director of Public Works is hereby <br />authorized to grant a utility easement to the Ohio Edison Company, governing the rights <br />of the parties relative to a parcel located at 12928 Berea Road, Lakewood, Ohio 44107 <br />(PPN#315-24-015) granting access to the property for the purpose utility service to the <br />facility and ongoing maintenance.
