(pg. 26) <br />Director Leininger read the communication on behalf of Assistant Director Baas. <br />President Litten made a motion, seconded by Vice President Kepple to refer the <br />communication to the Health and Human Services Committee. <br />Discussion: Vice President Kepple acknowledged that the Vice Chair of the CHAT <br />committee was present. Vice President Kepple also shared that that this has been an <br />incredible group to work with and she is excited for everyone to hear more about it. <br />On the motion: All in favor, motion passed. <br />***LIQUOR PERMIT*** <br />12.Liquor Permit Notice – Dolgen West LLC @ 13215 Detroit Ave. (pg. 27) <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple to file with no objection. All <br />members in favor. Motion passed. <br />***PUBLIC COMMENT**** <br />Nathan Noll – 1441 Lincoln Ave <br />Mr. Noll came to discuss the possibility of developing a community initiative to design a new <br />flag for the City of Lakewood. He talked about different examples of strong city flags, and how <br />they can serve as a source of pride for residents. He expressed the importance of having a flag <br />initiative backed by council to give the project legitimacy. He stated that many cities have <br />embarked on similar initiatives, and provided some examples of how the city could get started. <br />****ANNOUNCEMENTS**** <br />Councilmember Baker thanked all of the city employees that helped staff the Heros Run. <br />th <br />Councilmember Shachner reminded everyone that next Monday, September 25 there will be <br />a Finance Committee meeting at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the upcoming budget. He encouraged <br />the public to come and share their ideas. <br />6 <br /> <br />
