ORDINANCE 21-2023 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br />to take effect and be in force at the earliest period allowed by law, to approve the editing <br />and inclusion of certain ordinancesas parts ofthe various component codes of the Codified <br />st <br />Ordinances and to provide for the publication of such new matter. (1 read 10/16/23) <br /> (pg. 15) <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple, to suspend Council’s rules <br />and adopt on a second reading. A roll call vote was conducted as follows: <br />Yea: Baker, Bullock, Kepple, Marx, Litten, Rader, Shachner <br />Nays: none <br />Motion adopted. Rules suspended. <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple, to adopt Ordinance 21-2023. <br />All in favor. Motion passed. Announcement from President Litten regarding individual Council appointments to <br />Lakewood Animal Safety & Welfare Advisory Board. (pg. 17) <br />President Litten mentioned that he is very appreciative of the individuals’ willingness to serve. <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple, to receive and file the <br />announcement. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />14. Communication from President Litten regarding upcoming Council board & commission <br />vacancies. (pg. 18) <br /> <br />President Litten noted numerous vacancies that Lakewood has on its task forces, commissions, <br />and boards. He stated that Council and the community must work together to fill these positions. <br />He encouraged the public to notify Council if anyone is interested in filling these positions. <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Vice President Kepple, to receive and file the oral <br />communication. All in favor. Motion passed. <br />15.
