January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2028. (introduced 11/6/23) (pg. 11)
Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilman Rader, to amend Resolution 2023-57 by
inserting Hannah Gall into the blank space.

Discussion: President Litten clarified that this amendment is a proposal brought forward by Vice
President Kepple.

Councilman Bullock mentioned other potential candidates for Planning Commission. He stated
that he would prefer an interview process in order to identify the best candidate.

Councilman Rader stated that he supports the candidacy of Ms. Gall. He noted that Ms. Gall has
been on the Keep Lakewood Beautiful Board in the past.

Councilman Baker expressed support for Ms. Gall’s candidacy, noting her qualifications and the
gender diversity that she would bring to the Planning Commission.

Councilmember Marx stated her desire to appoint Ms. Gall tonight.

Councilman Shachner stated that he would support the appointment of Ms. Gall.

On the motion to amend: All in favor. Motion passed.

Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilman Bullock, to adopt Resolution 2023-57 as
amended. A roll call vote was conducted as follows:

Yea: Baker, Bullock, Litten, Marx, Rader, Shachner.
Nay: None

Motion passed. Resolution 2023-57 adopted as amended.

th
9. Report from Finance Committee meetings held December 11 and December 18th. (to
be provided)

Councilman Shachner delivered the following oral report:

Tonight was the final budget meeting hearing where we discussed a number of ordinances
that were all referred favorably out of committee and recommended for adoption. I would
note that Ordinance 22-2023 per usual, those two exhibits were not made available until
the end of the year because that’s when Council knows what money is needed in those
certain areas. I would like to take the time to thank everyone for their patience throughout
the budget process. I know there are long meetings that require a lot of preparation. I
would like to thank all the employees of the departments, the directors, and the
administration for their hard work.

Motion by Councilman Shachner, seconded by President Litten, to receive and file the oral report.
6
