***PUBLIC COMMENT*** <br />Ariella Epstein, Hall Ave. – Ms. Epstein expressed concerns about safety issues in the Active <br />Transportation Plan. She shared that a young girl was hit by a car in the crosswalk at the corner <br />of Woodward and Detroit Ave, in front of the McDonalds, on her way to Harding Middle <br />School. Ms. Epstein emphasized the need for measures to protect school children and prevent <br />further accidents. Councilmember Bullock stated that he was sorry to hear about the incident and <br />affirmed Council's commitment to addressing safety concerns, offering to collaborate with Ms. <br />Epstein to improve safety measures. <br />Danielle Kirsh, Dowd Ave. – Ms. Kirsh asked a question regarding the defunct Lakewood Land <br />Bank. Councilmember Marx responded by offering to connect Kirsh with City Planner Michelle <br />Nochta to provide comprehensive and accurate information on the matter. <br />Michael Reunillo, Brockley Ave. – Mr. Reunillo requested the removal of a tree that the City had <br />planted on the tree lawn in front of his house. He expressed dissatisfaction with the tree and <br />stated his desire for its removal. <br />Robert Organ, Bayes Ave. – Mr. Organ expressed his concern about the young girl being hit <br />while walking to school on Detroit Ave. He emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue and <br />improving safety measures. Councilman Baker expressed gratitude to Mr. Organ and suggested <br />the possibility of the Public Works Department improving the crosswalk by implementing a <br />signalized walk before traffic receives the green light. Public Works Director Gordon <br />acknowledged the concern and assured they would investigate the matter.
