<br /> ~ereas, the Lakewood Rapid Transit, Inc., an, Ohio corporation, has ap-
<br />plied for a permit to operate a line of motor buses for the oranportation o~
<br />passengers for hire between the Corporate Limits of the City of Lakewood, o~
<br />Hilliard Road, and the Public Square in t~ City of Cleveland, .and desires
<br />operate said line of buses over a designated route in the City of Lakewood
<br />and to carry passengers on said buses in said City of Lakevood and between
<br />points in Lakewood and points in the City of Clevelan$ at an agreed rate of
<br />fare; and

<br /> Whereas, for the convenience of the citizens of the city of Lakewood tl
<br />transportation of passengers as proposed is desireaBle; and

<br /> SECTION
<br />
<br /> ~ ./ ~ ~EFINITION OF TER~S.
<br /> Tt~e word ,'Company" whenever used in this ordinance, shall be held to
<br />Lakewood RaPid Transit, Inco:, anf0hio corporation.
<br />
<br /> Th~ word "City" whenever used in this ordinance, shall be held to ~ean
<br />and include the present corporate limits of the city of Lakewood, Ohio, a
<br />municipal corporation organized under the constitution and laws of the Stat
<br />of Ohio, with a city charter duly adopted.
<br />
<br />The word "Streets" whenever used in this ordinance, shall be held to
<br />aud include only the~public highways in the city of Lakewood, Ohio, specifi
<br />herein as the route over and alQng which the operation of'the bus line is t
<br />be permitted. ·
<br />
<br /> The word "Route" shall mean the streets herein specified as the public
<br />highways over and along which said bus line may be oPerated.

<br />SECTION ~.
<br />
<br />NA_~JRE OF CRAke.
<br />
<br /> The authority, right and privilege is hereby granted to Lakewood Rapif
<br />Transit, Inc., an Ohio corporation, for and in consideration of and subjeci
<br />to the conditions, agreements and provisions of this ordinance hereinafter
<br />set forth, for a period beginning on the effective date of this ordinance s
<br />ending on July l, 19~7, to establish, maintain and operate over and upon tl
<br />streets of the city of Lakewood, Ohio, hereinafter specified as the route ¢
<br />which such operation shall be permitted, motor buses (propelled by power
<br />generated or contained within the vel~cle itself, by gasoline, crude oil,
<br />electric power or otherwise, and further defined as a vehicle seating in ez
<br />of seven passengers) transportation system for the transportation of passen
<br />for hire.

<br />SECTION III.
<br />
<br /> ROUTES.
<br />
<br /> Regular motor bus transportation service shall ce established, operate
<br />and regularly maintained over and along the route hereinafter specified. ~
<br />the event of repairs, interference with or obstruction to the said route f¢
<br />any reason, the director of public works shall indicate a route to be used
<br />until ~ch repa~s, interference or obstruction shall have been removed or
<br />eliminated by the city.
