<br /> AN ORDINANCE to establish Chapter 62 of Part Nine cf the Codified
<br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, and to enact Sections 962.01, 962.02,
<br />962.03, 962.O$ and 962.99 of the General Offenses Code of the Codified
<br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, relating to the littering of streets
<br />and public grounds, and to provide a penalty therefor.

<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF
<br />OHIO:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That Section 962.01 of the General Offenses Code of
<br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be enacted to read as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br />962.01 Unlawful to Throw or Deposit Rubbish or Litter in Public
<br /> Places.
<br />
<br /> No person shall throw or deposit any dirt, paper, filth, ashes,
<br />shavings, straw, wood, refuse matter or rubbish of any kind whatever
<br /> onto any street, lane, alley, or public ground or place used
<br /> as a street, lane, alley or public ground in the City of Lakewood.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That Section 962.02 of the General Offenses Code of
<br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be enacted to
<br />read as follows~
<br />
<br />962.02 Unlawful to Throw, Drop or Discard Lighted Substances
<br /> from or upon Public Places.
<br />
<br />No person shall throw, drop or discard upon any public street,
<br />lane, alley or public ground, or place used as a street, lane,
<br />alley or public ground, any lighted cigarette, cigar, ashes or
<br />any ether flaming or glowing substance.
<br />
<br /> Section 3. That Section 962.03 of the General Offenses Code cf
<br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood he enacted to read as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br />962.03 Unlawful to Deposit Debris on Private Property.
<br />
<br />No person shall throw or deposit any dirt, paper, filth, ashes,
<br />shavings, straw, wood, refuse matter or rubbish of any kind
<br />whatever upon private property in the City of Lakewood; provided,
<br />however, that subject to the limitation of Section 962.04 of the
<br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, grass cuttings,
<br />garden trimmings, stones, wood and other similar things may be
<br />deposited on private property by the owner thereof or by any
<br />person having the written permission of the owner.

<br /> Section $. That Section 962.0~ of the General Offenses Code of
<br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be enacted to read as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br />962.O$ Unlawful to Allow Debris to Remain on Private Property.
<br />
<br />No person shall allow debris which is of such a nature that it
<br />constitutes a fire menace or fire hazard, or constitutes a rat
<br />harbor or a menace to the life, health, comfort or convenience
<br />of the community to remain upon any private property in the City
<br />of Lakewood%
