ORDINANCE NO. 57-58 BY: Messrs. Gaydos, Gottermeyer, <br /> Ward, Chockley, <br /> Fahrenbach, Fairgrieve. <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor, on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood, to consummate an agreement with the <br />City of Cleveland, Cleveland Transit. System, for the purchase of real <br />estate, all as hereinafter more partmcularly set forth. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This ordinance constitutes an emergency in that the ac- <br />quisition of property for the storage of municipal equipment is urgent- <br />ly needed, and in that it provides for the preservation of the public <br />peace, property, health or safety, and the usual daily operation of a <br />municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to enter into an agree- <br />ment with the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Transit System, in form <br />following: <br /> <br />"VENDOR <br /> <br />VENDEE <br /> <br />PROPERTY: <br /> <br />City of Cleveland, Cleveland Transit System <br />1505 East 9th Street <br />Cleveland, Ohio <br /> <br />City of Lakewood <br />15532 Lake Avenue <br />Lakewood, Ohio <br /> <br />Rocky River Station <br /> <br />PURCHASE PRICE: <br /> <br />$155,000.00 <br /> <br />The Vengor, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred <br />fifty fmve thousand dollars to be paid by Vendee as hereinafter <br />provided, hereby agrees to transfer, sell and convey to Vendee, <br />by official deed of the City of Cleveland, the following de- <br />scribed premises: <br /> <br />Situated in the City of Lakewood, County of Cuyahoga and State <br />of Ohio, and known as being all of Sublots Nos. 30, 31, $1 and <br />$2 in Clifton Park Association Allotment of part of original <br />Section 23, Rockport Township as shown by the recorded plat <br />in Volume 2, Page 28, of Cuyahoga County Records, and other <br />lands and together forming a parcel of land bounded and de- <br />scribed as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of the bridge <br />approach (60 feet wide) leading from Detroit Avenue to the Rocky <br />River Bridge with the westerly line of Detroit Avenue extension; <br />thence South 36 degrees -17t -22" West, 150.00 feet to the prin- <br />cipal point of beginning; thence_continuing South 36 degrees <br />-17t -22" West, $85.20 feet along the westerly line of Detroit <br />Avenue extension asaforesaid, to its intersection with the <br />southerly line of land appropriated to the Cleveland Railway <br />Company as shown in Common Pleas.
