Bennett, Cain, <br /> Gaydos, Huffman, <br /> Ward, Wendling. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to authorize an agreement with <br />the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, for <br />the exercise of certain powers and the rendition of certain <br />services in connection with the service and maintenance of a <br />Police Teletype System. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, An emergency exists in order to provide for <br />the preservation of the public property, health and safety and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of a municipal depart- <br />ment; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section to This Council authorizes the Mayor, ex- <br />officio Director of Public Safety to execute, on behalf of this <br />municipality,an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, in substantially the following terms: <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT made at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, <br />Ohio, as of the 1st day of June, I965, by and <br />between the City of Lakewood, an Ohio municipal <br />corporation(hereinafter designated the "~gJNICIPALITY"), <br />and the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio, (hereinafter designated the "COMMISSIONERS'); <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />(1) The MUNICIPALITY and the COMMISSIONERS agree, under <br />the authority of Section 307.15 Revised Code of Ohio, <br />that the COMMISSIONERS have and will continue to exercise <br />the powers and render the services hereinafter provided <br />in behalf of the MUNICIPALITY and for the consideration <br />hereinafter stated in connection with the installation and <br />maintenance of the Police Teletype System. <br /> <br />(2) The COMMISSIONERS have procured the installation of <br />the necessary equipment and instruments of the Ohio Bell <br />Telephone Company to extend to the MUNICIPALITY and to the <br />office of the Sheriff of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, a teletype <br />system ~nd service generally similar tothe one now in- <br />stalled~and in use in the City of Cleveland, so that the <br />Police Department and the office of the Sheriff may have <br />joint and reciprocal service thereof, together with joint <br />and reciprocal service extended to such other municipalities <br />as may enter into similar agreements with the COMMISSIONERS. <br />The COMMISSIONERS have established a teletype network pro- <br />viding intercommunication among at least ten (10) muni- <br />cipalities in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and for such addition- <br />al municipalities as may contract therefor in agreements <br />similar to this agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />
