PLACED ON FIRST READING July 22, 1985 PLACED ON SECOND READING SEPt. 3, 1985 ORDINANCE NO. 55-85 BY: Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, McBride AN ORDINANCE to amend paragraph (e) of Section 1119.15 of the Zoning Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood to require that supportive services be mandatory and included in the lease agreement between an assisted living facility and its residents. WHEREAS, persons residin9 in assisted living facilities require certain basic services to ensure their health, safety and welfare, and WHEREAS, Dot to require operators of assisted living facilities to provide such basic supportive services would shift such responsibility to the City and result in additional financial burdens being placed upon the City; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That paragraph (e) of Section 1119.15 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: 1119.15 ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY OPERATING STANDARDS. Assisted Living Facilities permitted as a special exception pursuant to Section 1113.~4 of this Zoning' Code shall be operated in accordance with the following operating standards: (b) . . . (e) A plan for the supportive service .package which shall be included in the rental agreement of residents of the Assisted Living Facility, shall be submitted to the Department of Aging for review and approval prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy and at least the following service options shall be provided in the lease agreement of residents of the Assisted Living Facility: 3. 4. 5. 6.
