Po:-rer!';;, S'.)IDIners.. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, It shall take effect and <br />be in fore after the eariiest period allowed by law, amending Ordinance 55-07, adopted <br />Juiy 2, 2007, estabiishing a Land Reutilization Program for the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Land Reutilization Program was previously estabiished by the <br />Lakewood City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, There are additional avenues for the acquisition of property for the <br />Land Reutilization Program at iittle or no cost to the City of Lakewood that were not <br />refiected in the prior ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, It could benefit the City to be able to acquire additional parcels of <br />real estate for redevelopment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall <br />take effect at the eariiest date possibie as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it <br />provides for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the Department <br />of Planning and Development is charged with furthering the planned development or <br />redevelopment of the City. NOw, therefore <br /> <br />¡ <br />I <br />é <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Ordinance No. 55-07, adopted July 2, 2007, currently reading as <br />follows: <br /> <br />l <br /> <br />Section 1. That the City of Lakewood hereby declares that there exists <br />sufficient and substantial nonproductive land within its boundaries which is of such <br />nature and extent as to necessitate the impiementation of a Land Reutilization Program <br />to foster either the return of such nonproductive land to tax revenue generating status <br />or the devotion thereof to pubiic use. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City of Lakewood hereby adopts and implements the <br />procedures set forth in Chapter 5722 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the Department of Pianning and Development shall administer <br />the Land Reutilization Program. <br /> <br />Section 4. That the Director of Planning and Development shall implement <br />poiicies and procedures, as approved by the Director of Law, that are consistent with <br />this Ordinance and Chapter 5722 of the Ohio Revised Code for the disposition of Land <br />held in the City's Land Reutilization Program (Land Bank). <br /> <br />Section 5. That the Cierk of Council is hereby directed to send certified cOpies <br />of this Ordinance to the County Auditor, County Treasurer, and County Prosecutor as <br />provided in Section 5722.02 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
