RESOLUTION NO. 6386-89 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing <br />the Mayor, for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to enter <br />into a contract with Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners <br />covering Social Services and Nutrition, such contract providing <br />partial funding for supplemental funds under Title III of the <br />1965 Older Americans Act. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners <br />is administering a program of grants from the Federal <br />Government, under Title III of the 1965 Older Americans Act, <br />wherby this City may obtain monies to provide Programs for <br />persons 60 years of age or older, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public <br />health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that <br />these funds can be obtained at the present time; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br /> <br />STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, for and on behalf of the <br />City of Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed <br />to enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Board of <br />Commissioners, providing partial funding of the City's Program <br />under Title III of the 1965 Older Americans Act. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this Resolution is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the <br />preamble hereof, and provided it receives the affirmative vote <br />of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Approved~ ~/ /~ <br /> <br /> <br />
