<br />Resolution No. <br /> <br />8252-08 <br /> <br />By: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force <br />after the earliest period allowed by law, in support of Building Ohio Jobs. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs is a $1.7 billion jobs package that crates tens of <br />thousands of jobs in Ohio and lays the foundation for long term economic prosperity in our <br />State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the roads, bridges, rails, infrastructure improvements, biomediCine, <br />bioproducts and advanced energy investments in this package will create jobs for Ohioans in <br />the near term and position our state as an economic leader in key industries for decades to <br />, <br />come; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will create jobs and stimulate economic growth <br />throughout the State of Ohio by investing in our strengths and giving local communities the <br />resources they need for economic development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will invest $200 million in Main Street Renewalí funding <br />façade improvements, streetscape enhancements and other projects in Ohio's small towns <br />and large cities, making our communities places where people want to live and companies <br />want to business; and <br /> <br />[ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will invest $400 million in the Clean Ohio Fund and will <br />help meet the growing demand for brownfield redevelopment and farmland preservation, as <br />well as support trails and green space projects; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will invest $400 million in the Public Works Commission <br />and will allow Ohio to quickly infuse resources into communities by partnering with local <br />decision-makers and meet the critical infrastructure needs throughout the state. Investing in <br />roads, bridges and water systems will create jobs and spur business development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Building Ohio Jobs will invest $250 million in Advanced Energy and will <br />support economic development in areas such as solar and wind manufacturing, advanced <br />coal technologies, biofuels and energy conservation and efficiency; and <br />
