<br />RESOLUTION NO: <br /> <br />13:2'6.:1,·'-0:8 <br /> <br />BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, <br />Dever, M~digan, Powers. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION recognizing that the month of May 2008 has been designated as National <br />Preservation Month and acknowledging the 2008 Preservation Award winners within the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has been identified as having many historic properties and has <br />long been recognized as a leader in historic preservation issues; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board has been established to serve in an advisory <br />capacity for the purpose of educating, informing, and making recommendations to City Officials, <br />Departments, Boards and Commission, and the community on matters relating to historic preservation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board has instituted an awards program to honor <br />exemplary projects that have contributed significantly to improving the quality of life in the City of <br />Lakewood through the preservation of our historic architectural resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Beverstock have been selected to receive the 2008 Preservation <br />Award for a Sympathetic Addition; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Reverend James C. Butler, Pastor of Lakewood Presbyterian Church has been selected to <br />receive the 2008 Preservation Award for a Sympathetic Addition; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Jesse Ewanko, Chartreuse, 17300 Madison Avenue, has been selected to receive the <br />2008 Preservation Award for Commercial Revitalization; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Matthew Fis\ Melt Bar & Grill, 14718 Detroit Avenue, has been selected to receive <br />the 2008 Preservation Award for Commercial Revitalization; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Messrs. Charles and Gordon Geiger, Geiger's Clothing and Sports, 14710 Detroit Avenue, <br />have been selected to receive the 2008 Preservation Award for Commercial Revitalization for their building <br />at 14718 Detroit Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas Barrett, BP Lakewood Investments, 15707 Detroit Avenue, has been <br />selected to receive the 2008 Preservation Award for Commercial Revitalization for his building at 15701·13 <br />Detroit Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the intent of this awards program is to recognize and publicize the preservation, <br />rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and sustained maintenance of historically and architecturally significant <br />properties in the City of Lakewood. NOW THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor recognizes that the month of May 2008 has been <br />designated as National Preservation Month and acknowledges the 2008 Preservation Award winners who <br />have contributed significantly to improving the City of Lakewood through the preservation of our historic <br />architectural resources. <br />
