MINUTES OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> November 30, 2020 <br /> Online Broadcast Meeting <br /> Present: Councilmembers Bullock, Litten, &Neff <br /> Also Present: Public Works Director Ducu, City Engineer Papke, Law Director Corrigan, <br /> President O'Malley, Councilmembers Kepple, Rader & Shachner, Building Commissioner <br /> Meyers, Mayor George, IT Manager Coletta, Finance Director Rancatore, Public Works Division <br /> Manager Sam Bonvissuto, Human Services Director Gelsomino, Assistant Commissioner <br /> Parmalee Deputy Clerk Lascu and Clerk Bach taking minutes <br /> Start time: 6:03 p.m. <br /> AGENDA <br /> Approval of the minutes of the 11/23/20 Finance Committee Meeting <br /> Chairman Bullock made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Litten to approve the minutes <br /> from the committee's last meeting. <br /> A roll call vote was taken as follows: <br /> Yeas —Bullock, Litten, Neff <br /> Nays —None <br /> Motion passed. The minutes were approved. <br /> Capital Budget& Public Works Department <br /> Public Works Director Roman Ducu & IT Division Manager Michael Coletta <br /> Director Ducu reviewed the work that the Urban Forestry Department undertook in 2020. He <br /> noted there were 14 large hazard removals on Clifton Rd. and 18 n various locations throughout <br /> the city, which in total cost$75,000. The department treated and observed 59 trees for emerald <br /> ash borer related issues and planted approximately 406 new trees, which cost$120,000. The <br /> majority of the tree canopy loss that the city experienced took place on the private side of the <br /> property line. Director Ducu stated that the department will continue to identify hazard trees and <br /> minimize property damage, treat emerald ash borer trees, and seek to plant 400 new trees in <br /> 2021. <br /> Director Ducu reviewed the accomplishments of the Parks &Public Properties division in 2020, <br /> noting the installation of an EV charger, the recoating of the city hall roof,preparation for solar <br /> panel installation on Winterhurst and the MUG building, and the painting of Winterhurst. In <br /> 2021, the division plans to add improvements to parks, expand LED lighting, and add more car <br /> charging stations. <br />
