MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL AUDITORIUM October 17, 2022 7:30 P.M. Regular Meeting of the Lakewood City Council called to order at 7:30 PM by Acting President Kepple Present: Kyle Baker, Thomas R. Bullock III, Sarah Kepple, Cindy Marx, Tristan Rader Also Present: Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Kaucheck, Fire Chief Dunphy, Public Works Director Ducu, Human Resources Director Claudia Dillinger, Planning Director Shawn Leininger, Law Director Ernie Vargo, Chief Assistant Law Director Swallow, Human Services Director Chad Berry, Chief of Staff John Storey, Clerk Bach and Council staff Motion by Acting President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to excuse the absence of President Litten and Councilmember Schachner. All in favor. Motion passed. Motion by Acting President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to receive and file the minutes of the October 3, 2022 General Meeting without the necessity of a reading. All in favor. Motion passed. Motion by Acting President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to receive and file the minutes of the October 5, 2022 Special Meeting without the necessity of a reading. All in favor. Motion passed. ****OLD BUSINESS**** 1. Committee of the Whole Report regarding meetings held October 10, 2022. (pg. 001) Motion by Acting President Kepple, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to receive and file the written communication. All in favor. Motion passed. 2. RESOLUTION 2022-40 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, approving the appointment of Ernie Vargo to the position of Director of Law upon his taking the oath of office.
