<br />MINUTES <br />OF A MEETING OF <br />LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />AUDITORIUM <br />SEPTEMBER 5,2023 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />Regular Meeting of the Lakewood City Council called to order at 7:35PMby PresidentLitten <br />**** <br />Present:,Kyle Baker, John Litten, Cindy Marx, Tristan Rader,Jason Shachner <br />Also Present: Mayor George, Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Fischer, Public Works <br />DirectorGordon,Law Director Ernie Vargo,Planning Director Leininger, Fire Chief Dunphy, <br />Human Resources Director Dillinger <br />**** <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded byCouncilmember Rader to excuse the absences of <br />Vice President Kepple and Councilmember Bullock. All members voted in favor. Motion <br />passed. <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Radertoapprove the minutes of the <br />July 17, 2023 General Meeting without the necessity of a reading. All in favor. Motion passed. <br />***OLD BUSINESS*** <br />1.ORDINANCE 17-2023-AN ORDINANCE amending Section 135.05, Traffic Guards of <br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood to for the purpose of allowing the Mayor, <br />st <br />as Director of Public Safety, to hire more traffic guards. (1read & referred to Public <br />Safety 7/17/23)(pg. 1) <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Rader to defer Ordinance 17-2023. All <br />members voted in favor. Motion passed. Ordinance 17-2023 deferred. <br />*** <br />2.ORDINANCE 16-2023 -AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise <br />to take effect and be in force at the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the transfer <br />st <br />and advance of certain funds. (1read & referred to Finance 7/17/23)(pg. 5) <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Rader to defer Ordinance 16-2023. All <br />members voted in favor. Motion passed.
