<br />MINUTES <br />OF A MEETING OF <br />LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />AUDITORIUM <br />January 16, 2024 <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Lakewood City Council called to order at 7:36 PM byPresident Kepple <br />**** <br />Present: Councilmembers Marx, Baker,Shachner, Kepple, Bullock,Strebig, Rader. <br /> <br />Also Present: Mayor George, Law Director Vargo, Fire Chief Dunphy, Public Works Director <br />Gordon, Planning Director Leininger, Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Fischer, Human <br />Services Director Berry,and Council Staff. <br /> <br />**** <br /> <br />Motion by President Kepple, seconded by Vice President Shachner, to approve the minutes of <br />the January 2nd, 2024 General Meeting without the necessity of a reading. All in favor. Motion <br />passed. Minutes approved. <br />***OLD BUSINESS*** <br />1. RESOLUTION 2023-72 - A RESOLUTION honoring the St. Edward High School Football <br />Team for a 2023 season marked by outstanding athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship, <br />culminating in a triumphant victory in the 2023 OHSAA Division 1 State Championship. <br />(deferred 12/18/23) (pg. 1) <br />Motion by President Kepple, seconded by Vice President Shachner, to defer Resolution 2023-72. <br />All in favor. Motion passed. Resolution 2023-72 deferred. <br />Discussion: President Kepple noted that former Councilman John Litten is presently engaged in <br />discussions with the coaching staff of the St. Edward High School Football Team to determine a <br />suitable date for their attendance at a Lakewood City Council General Meeting. <br />*** <br />2. Report from Committee of the Whole held January 8, 2024. (pg. 2) <br />Motion by President Kepple, seconded by Vice President Shachner, to receive and file the report. <br />All in favor.
