ORDINANCE N0. 84- 4 <br />Page -6= <br />(G) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village be amended <br />to provide that the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of the members of Council is necessary to enact <br />legislation that has previously been vetoed by the <br />Mayor? <br />H. Shall Section 4 of Article V of the Charter of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, be amended to read as follows: <br />The Law Director shall be the head of the Law Department. <br />He shall be provided with such assistants and special <br />counsel as the Council may from time to time deem to <br />be necessary or desirable. The Law Director and any <br />such assistants or special counsel shall be appointed by <br />the Mayor, subject to the confirmation by a vote_of <br />~etl~ A MAJORITY OF THE members of Council, and may be <br />removed at any time by the Mayor, subject to approval <br />by a vote of €ett~ A MAJORITY OF THE members of <br />Council. <br />The ballot question for this proposed amendment to the Charter <br />shall read: <br />(H) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village be amended to <br />provide that the appointment of a Law Director by the <br />Mayor is subject to the confirmation by a vote of the <br />majority of the members of Council and that removal <br />of the Law Director by the Mayor is also subject to <br />approval by a vote of the majority of members of <br />Council? <br />I. Shall Section 6 (A) of Article V of the Charter of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, be amended to read as follows: <br />As of the effective date of this Charter, there is <br />created a Civil Service Commission which shall consist <br />of three (3) electors of the Municipality, not holding <br />other municipal office or appointment, to be appointed <br />by the Mayor within sixty days after the effective date <br />of this Charter, with the concurrence of ~eti~ A <br />MAJORITY OF THE members of Council, for terms of six <br />(6) years each, except that of the three initially <br />appointed for the term beginning January 1, 1975, one <br />shall be appointed for a term of two years, one for a <br />term of four years, and one for a term of six years. <br />The Mayor may at any time remove any member of the <br />Commission for inefficiency, neglect of duty, malfeasance, <br />misfeasance or nonfeasance in office, incapacity or <br />incompetency, provided, however, that such removal from <br />office shall become final only after being confirmed by <br />the affirmative vote of fete A MAJORITY OF THE members <br />
