ORDINANCE NO. 84-11 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Fred N. Carmen <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING REVISED <br />CHAPTER 505 OF THE CODIFIED ORDI- <br />NANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTAINING TO ANIMALS AND FOWL AND <br />REPEALING EXISTING CHAPTER 505. <br />(SECOND DRAFT) <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1 Chapter 505 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Hayfield Village, Ohio, is hereby revised and enacted to read as <br />follows: <br />CHAPTER 505 <br />Animals and Fowl <br />505.01 Definitions <br />(a) "Dogs" shall mean both male and female dogs. <br />(b) "Owner" shall mean any person, firm, association or corpo- <br />ration owning, keeping, harboring, or having charge of any animal <br />or fowl. <br />(c) "At Large" shall mean either of the following: <br />(1) Off the premises of the owner and not under <br />the control of the owner by a leash, cord, <br />chain or other device of restraint; <br />(2) On the premises of the owner and outside the <br />perimeter of an enclosed area or building <br />while not restrained by a leash, cord, chain <br />or similar device. <br />(d) "Domestic Animal" means a dog, cat, caged bird, hamster, <br />gerbil, fish or other animal commonly considered domestic but <br />excluding lions, tigers, panthers, or other animals considered exotic. <br />505.02 Animal Warden <br />(a) Office Established. The part-time position of Animal <br />Warden is established within the Department of Public Service. <br />(b) Appointment. The Animal Warden shall be appointed by the <br />Mayor and be employed at such compensation as the Council shall <br />determine from time-to-time. <br />(c) Bond. The Animal Warden shall give bond in the sum of One <br />Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) conditioned for the faithful performance <br />of his duties, said bond to be at the expense of the Village. <br />
