ORD INANCE NO. 8 2=' 52 -.- <br />INTRODUCED BY: ;Mayor & Council`as a Whole <br />i <br />AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE APPOI?,TMENT OF <br />A LAW DIRECTOR; ESTABLISHING TERMS, CONDITIONS <br />AND COMPENSATION FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCTL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor's appointment of Dale C. Feneli as <br />Law Director for Mayfield Village, Ohio, is hereby confirmed <br />subject to the terms, conditions and compensation hereinafter <br />set forth. <br />Section 2. As Law Director of Mayfiel'd Village, Ohio, <br />Dale C Feneli sha11 be responsible for the administration of <br />all civil, munic'ipal legal matters and shall perform a11 duties <br />specified by the Charter of MayfieTd Village, Ohio, with regard <br />to the Director of Law and by the statutes of the State of Ohio <br />with regard to the'duties of City Solicitors. The Director of <br />Law shall not be.responsible, however, for the'conduct nor <br />compensation of fhe Municipal Prosecutor, who shall be separately <br />appointed, directed and compensated. <br />Section 3. The Law Director shall personally conduct or <br />directly supervise all activities for which he is responsible. <br />In any event, attendance at meetings of Council shall be the <br />sole and exclusive responsibility of the Law Director except as <br />hereinafter stated and a11 adversary litigation sha11 be conducted <br />personally by the Law Director except where otherwise providede <br />In the event of absence from mee.tings of Council by reason of <br />illness, personal emergency, vacation or unavoidable absence <br />from Cuyahoga County on other non-municipal business, or in <br />the everit of being unable to conduct litigation by reason of <br />illness or personal emergericy, Dale C. FeneTi.shall cause all <br />services necessary to the"municipality to be rendered by <br />a qualified attorney licerised to practice'law in the State of <br />Ohio and having municipal legal experience, all at Dale C. Feneli's <br />sole expense. <br />Section 4. The charges to the municipality for services to <br />be ren ere y the Law Dizector shall be as follows: <br />(a) For attendance at regular Council meetings, <br />Council Caucuses, and the regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission, plus such other meetings of Boards, Commissions, <br />and Council at which the atteridance of the Law Director <br />is requested, not to exceed four (4) meetings per month, <br />I,.
