ORDINANCE NO. $~-3.9 Page -7- This provision shall be operative as of certification by the Board of Elections by Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and shall terminate the existing term of the Finance Director, creating a vacancy subject to appointment as set forth herein. The ballot question shall be: (I) Shall the position of Director of Finance of Mayfield Village, which is now an elected position open only to resident-.s of the municipality be changed to an appointed position without a residency requirement, allowing the Mayor to make the appointment based on professional qualifications subject to confirmation by a majority of the members of the Village Council? Sectibri '2. .The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to certify a copy of this Ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County immediately. upon its passage for inclusion of the ballot at the general election to be held in the municipality on the third day of November, 1981 and to take such other steps as are required pursuant to Ohio law to cause such election to be validly held. Section '3. The Law Director is authorized, empowered and directed to confer with the Board of Elections regarding the ballot questions and to make any changes necessary to comply with current election law so long as the substance of any issue is not changed. In the event of the necessity of substantial change of an issue, the Charter Review Commission and the Council shall be consulted. Section '4. This Ordinance, being required by Charter, is not subject to emergency or referendum provisions and shall take effect immediately upon passage. n1RENCE J .
