ORDINANCE NO. 80-5 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL <br />AID FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY <br />OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS. <br />WHEREAS, Section 717.02 and 717.021 of the Revised Code <br />of Ohio authorize any municipal corporation, in order to obtain <br />additional fire protection, to enter into contracts for the services <br />of the Fire Department or the use of Fire Department equipment within <br />the territories of the contracting municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to enter into a <br />contract for the mutual interchange of Fire Department personnel and <br />equipment with the City of Willoughby Hills; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby <br />authorized and directed to sign a mutual aid fire protection contract, <br />in a form substantially similar to the one attached hereto and marked <br />Exhibit "A", with the City of Willoughby Hills. <br />Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency ordinance immediately necessary for the preservation of <br />the public peace, health and safety of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, in that the .interchange of fire protection personnel and <br />equipment with other political subdivision is essential in providing <br />adequate fire protection.
