ORDINANCE NO. 80-5 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor & Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL AID FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS. WHEREAS, Section 717.02 and 717.021 of the Revised Code of Ohio authorize any municipal corporation, in order to obtain additional fire protection, to enter into contracts for the services of the Fire Department or the use of Fire Department equipment within the territories of the contracting municipalities; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to enter into a contract for the mutual interchange of Fire Department personnel and equipment with the City of Willoughby Hills; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to sign a mutual aid fire protection contract, in a form substantially similar to the one attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A", with the City of Willoughby Hills. Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the residents of Mayfield Village, in that the .interchange of fire protection personnel and equipment with other political subdivision is essential in providing adequate fire protection.
