1. Each party hereto will respond, so far as in the judg- <br />ment of the officer in charge of its Fire Department is consistent with <br />the proper protection of its own territory, on the emergency call of <br />the officer on duty and in charge of the Fire Department of the other <br />party hereto. <br />In addition, each party hereto will respond, so far as in <br />the judgment of the officer in charge of its Fire Department is con- <br />sistent with the proper protection of its own territory, automatically <br />on monitoring through an alerting receiver an emergency call received <br />by the other, provided that such emergency call requires a response <br />to any one or more of the following designated areas within the <br />corporate limits of either municipality; <br />(a) White Road between the Interstate 271 overpass and <br />S.O.M. Center Road; <br />(b) Metropolitan Park; <br />(c) Interstate 271. <br />2. When an officer of any Fire Department calls for <br />assistance, he shall state the specific equipment and manpower needed, <br />shall give explicit directions as to the location where assistance is <br />needed and, whenever possible, shall dispatch someone to a specific meet- <br />ing place to escort the persons responding to their destination. <br />3. It is further mutually agreed that all personnel of the <br />responding party, while responding to an emergency call of the calling <br />:. party, shall be acting within the scope of their employment as fire- <br />fighting personnel while enroute to, enroute from and while acting <br />within the territory of the calling municipality. <br />- 2 - <br />
