~~~'~ %~J <br />~~' , .... <br />` ORDINANCE NO. 80- ~ =- <br />INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ENACTING CHAPTER 971 <br />OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, REGULATING THE INSTALLATION AND USE <br />OF ALARMS SIGNALING FIRE OR UNAUTHORIZED <br />INTRUSION AT ANY RESIDENTIAL OR BUSINESS <br />PREMISES WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council, on November 19, 1979, passed <br />Ordinance No. 79-81 enacting Chapter 971 of the Codified Ordinances <br />of Mayfield Village, Ohio, regulating the installation and use <br />of alarms signaling fire or unathorized intrusion at any residential <br />or business premises within the municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 21, 1980 this Council enacted Ordinance <br />80-23 amending Ordinance 79-81 insofar as the annual fee and <br />application permit fee were concerned and; <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police, Mayor and Council have <br />all agreed that it is in the best interests of the residents of <br />Mayfield Village to combine both of the aforesaid ordinances into <br />one ordinance for the sake of simplicity and complete understanding <br />of this newly enacted Chapter in the Codified Ordinances; now, therefore <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. There,.-is hereby enacted, Chapter 971 of <br />the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village as follows: <br />CHAPTER 971 <br />ALARMS <br />971.01 AUTHORITY TO INSTALL ALARMS: Any residence or <br />business located within Mayfield Village may be equipped with <br />an emergency alarm for the purpose of detecting and signaling <br />the presence of a fire or unauthorized intrusion at such <br />location, but no such installation shall be made after the <br />effective date of this Ordinance unless all requirements of <br />these Codified Ordinances with regard thereto shall have been <br />met. <br />971.02 DIFFERENTIATION BETWEEN FIRE AND INTRUSION::No <br />personal shall install, or allow to be installed, any alarm <br />covered by Section 971.03, which detects both fire and <br />unauthorized intrustion, unless such unit shall also bed <br />capable of transmitting a signal for fire different from the <br />
