I~~EAS, this CounciY is of the opinion that in the installation of public improvements undertaken in this Village the Engineer on said improvements should be held responsible far said improvements"by the 'preparation of plans and speci- fications,"the furnishing of estimates .and the performance of the necessary en- gineering during the progress of the work, :and that the Engineer should be held responsible for the faithful performance of all public improvements;. NOWT, TI~REFORE, BE TT ORfi~1NED by the Council of the Village of P,layfield' State of ahio; Section 1. That F."A. Pease be, .and he is hereby employed and :appointed as yngineer within :and for the Village of Mayfield. Section 2. That he shall prepare all necessary plans, profiles, specifications .and estimates of cost of every kind for .:all. public improvements. Section 3. That he be held responsible to this Council for the faithful execution of all public work undertaken by this Council, pursuant to plans and specifications :approved by this Council. Section 4. That :all inspectors, :appointed by the Ro.a.d Committee of this Council shall be under his direction and supervision and shall report to .and. receive their instructions from him. Section 5. That he will furnish to this Council plans' specifications and estimates of cost of .all. necessary improvements for the guidance of this Council and for the information.and guidance of contractors. Section 6. That, vrhen requested, he shall make .and deliver to this Council monthly reports of the progress of improvements under his charge' stating conditions of same together with :any other matters of interest desired by this Council. All plans shalt be the property of the Village .and when so directed by the Council be filed in the Clerkgs office' upon completion of .any street improvement. Section 7. That his services shall. be .at the call of ;any Department of this Village, or of ..any Official acting in his official capacity. Section 8. That for such services in connection--~rrith construction of public improvements he shall receive compensation equal to six per tentage (6~) of the :ac'tttal cost of construction of ,all improvements made by this Council and Linder his control, said sum to be paid .at the time the contractorts estimates, upon Urhich his payment is based, are presented to this Council. Section 9. Compensation equal to three percentage (3 a) of the. to~~l estimated cost shall be paid for :all plans, profiles_..and specifications upon ~rork authorized and :approved by this Council should the proceedings for said work, for any caase, be discontinued and improvements not constructed.
