ORDIN~LITCE N0. 398 <br />By Dr. Wall <br />AN E~RGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITS THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COIIIDQISSIONERS OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, FOR THE <br />COORDINATION OF CIVTI, DEFENSE ACTIVITIES. <br />WHEREAS, an einerge~acy exists for the immediate ~pres®rvation of the <br />public peace, pxopertsj, health and safety, th® emergens~y being to provide for <br />the coordination of Civil Defense activities within the area of Cuyahoga <br />County. - . . <br />NOVil, THEREFORE, BE'IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of <br />Mayfield, Cuyahoga County,.Ohio, t~vo-thirds of all members elocted thereto <br />concurring. <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor of the Village of Mayfield b® and h® is <br />hereby authori~®d in its nar~i and on. its behalf to ant®r into a vrritten agr®e- <br />~ent with the Board of Coutaty Cora~Lissioners of Cuyahoga County in words and <br />figures substantially as folloars: <br />1. The Civil Defense Director appointed pursuant to law by <br />the Board of County Commissioners- of Cuyahoga County for <br />the axes, witYii~i said County outside of the incorporated <br />territory th®rein shall be designated as a2id perform the <br />duties of Civil Defense Co-ordinator for Cuyahoga Countye <br />2. There sha.11 ~b® established pursuant to this -and like agree- <br />ments executed by the other municipal corporati®zas within <br />the County, a County Ccunozl o£ Civil Defers®, composed of <br />the Board of County Commissioners of~Cuyahoga County, th® <br />Mayor of the City of Cleveland, and the Mayor oz° chiof <br />®x®cuti~ ®fficer of e~,eh of the munioipal corporations <br />entering into like agreements with. said Board. <br />3® There shall b® established likewise a~Ci~i.l Aefense Advisory <br />Committee to advise and assist the Civ.~l Defens® Coordinator, _ <br />which committee ~ shall be coinpos®d of the Mayor of the City of <br />Clevoland, who shall be Chairman, the President of the Board of <br />County Cot~ini:ssioners ~of Cuyahoga County, who shall be Vice <br />Chairman, and seven additanal members elios®n by the Cuyahoga <br />County Counoil of Ci~i1 Defons®, and to serve at its pleasur®. <br />Each member of the Advisory~Cormn-i.ttes sYiall hags th® authority <br />to appoint~an alternate, who shall be entitled to be present <br />at~ all meetings of said committee bat not to vote th~~oat <br />except in the absence of his principal. <br />4. The Advisory Committee shall prepare a budget wader such rules <br />and regulations as it may provide, including therein an <br />oppoxtuni.ty for a hoaxing for the participating political sub- <br />divisions; and f®r adjustments to be Made to such budget. <br />Said tiudg®t, when finally approved, shall b® presented to the <br />Budget Comni.ssioner of Cuyahoga County.
