ORDIN~LITCE N0. 398 By Dr. Wall AN E~RGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITS THE BOARD OF COUNTY COIIIDQISSIONERS OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, FOR THE COORDINATION OF CIVTI, DEFENSE ACTIVITIES. WHEREAS, an einerge~acy exists for the immediate ~pres®rvation of the public peace, pxopertsj, health and safety, th® emergens~y being to provide for the coordination of Civil Defense activities within the area of Cuyahoga County. - . . NOVil, THEREFORE, BE'IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, Cuyahoga County,.Ohio, t~vo-thirds of all members elocted thereto concurring. SECTION 1: That the Mayor of the Village of Mayfield b® and h® is hereby authori~®d in its nar~i and on. its behalf to ant®r into a vrritten agr®e- ~ent with the Board of Coutaty Cora~Lissioners of Cuyahoga County in words and figures substantially as folloars: 1. The Civil Defense Director appointed pursuant to law by the Board of County Commissioners- of Cuyahoga County for the axes, witYii~i said County outside of the incorporated territory th®rein shall be designated as a2id perform the duties of Civil Defense Co-ordinator for Cuyahoga Countye 2. There sha.11 ~b® established pursuant to this -and like agree- ments executed by the other municipal corporati®zas within the County, a County Ccunozl o£ Civil Defers®, composed of the Board of County Commissioners of~Cuyahoga County, th® Mayor of the City of Cleveland, and the Mayor oz° chiof ®x®cuti~ ®fficer of e~,eh of the munioipal corporations entering into like agreements with. said Board. 3® There shall b® established likewise a~Ci~i.l Aefense Advisory Committee to advise and assist the Civ.~l Defens® Coordinator, _ which committee ~ shall be coinpos®d of the Mayor of the City of Clevoland, who shall be Chairman, the President of the Board of County Cot~ini:ssioners ~of Cuyahoga County, who shall be Vice Chairman, and seven additanal members elios®n by the Cuyahoga County Counoil of Ci~i1 Defons®, and to serve at its pleasur®. Each member of the Advisory~Cormn-i.ttes sYiall hags th® authority to appoint~an alternate, who shall be entitled to be present at~ all meetings of said committee bat not to vote th~~oat except in the absence of his principal. 4. The Advisory Committee shall prepare a budget wader such rules and regulations as it may provide, including therein an oppoxtuni.ty for a hoaxing for the participating political sub- divisions; and f®r adjustments to be Made to such budget.
